Luke Parsons is studying a level 3 qualification in Uniformed Public Services at Eastleigh College.
He says his discovery of Dyslexia made him want to prove himself to others. He was elected as head boy of his school by peers and teachers. Luke felt that year 9 was the turning point in his education as he was able to choose his GCSE subjects and relax into the subjects he was best suited to, such as drama and art.
“I shared my lessons with pupils with a similar work ethic to me. We all wanted to succeed and do well. I was boosted by the knowledge that in a 3 month period of year 10 I made 3 years of progress in reading.” Embracing Dyslexia can be easy if you have the right attitude and the correct support.
Luke is happy to share his experiences of living with Dyslexia. He can be contacted by emailing media@bdadyslexia.org.uk
